About Me

Well what can I say about myself?  Here's my second attempt on doing this (the other one disappeared into la-la land) ha ha.  Well I'm 50 years old, my name is Steve, I'm single but attached, and live with my dog Barney.  I am a Christian and take my Christianity very seriously, but I don't go to any happy-clappy clubs in particular.  To be quite honest with you, some of them drive me absolutely nuts.  I do watch GOD TV, and my favourite speakers are Joyce Meyer, John Bevere, Jesse Duplantis - and way over here in England, Paul Scanlon from Abundant Life Church in Bradford.

My hobby is writing, and I had a book published back in 1997 which went down like a lead balloon (LOL) but the people who clapped eyes on it - identified with it, and my computer lit up like a Christmas tree, each one telling their own story of what happened to them.  From that day to this, some have become close friends of mine, and it all started with a book - which I could've started writing a few years earlier, but I had to have the "Holy Ghost Cattle Prod" stuck up my blessed assurance to do it.  I knew above all knowing that there were people out there that were absolutely stuck in life with seemingly no way out, and they needed to see something from someone that had been through some stuff.  To that end I hope I provided a way out from a prison they had embalmed themselves in.

To me - a story that is untold is a story that's lost forever, and many people in church don't tell their story because of rejection, ridecule or embarrassment. And with some people, they hear something and think to themselves, "I can't talk like what they do" and they NEVER say it, but their story is as real to them as the person they are listening to that says it more elequently. And in a world that it is today, many stories are being lost (for a better way of putting it) and people are suffering because of it.  Christianity is not a fashion parade, its get there if you can, and some people only manage to do that by sheer guts and determination of not quitting and not giving up when all Hell breaks loose.  On the other hand, some people do. These people are what I call "Christian Casualties" that shouldn't be casualties, if only somebody would just stop and listen without some pre-scripted, pre-rehearsed, something you'd have to have a science degree to understand it comment.  People need to be quick to listen, but slow to speak.  As it says somewhere in Revelation, they defeated the devil by the blood of the Lamb AND the word of their testimony.  Somehow the testimony part gets missed out.

The only way I can describe it is if you've ever seen the film "Pay It Forward" when somebody does something for someone, then that someone pays it forward by doing something for somebody else.  And in between that "something" is the story that backs it up. As the drug addict said to the woman who was about to throw herself off the bridge, if you don't want to save your life - save mine, have a cup of coffee with me.  And with some people, that's all it takes.

Once again on the writing front, I used to do articles for a church magazine, but it folded back in 2001, and I had to ask myself, am I writing stuff for me, or am I writing about stuff for other people? That latter proved to be true, and I write about stuff that you don't necessarily hear spoken about in a church environment, but on the other hand it SHOULD be spoken about because that's how people learn how to walk the talk, not just talk it.

Family-wise I have 4 sisters.  One older, three younger.  And if there's any men-folk out there reading this, I'm in desperate need of some testosterone (if that's how you spell it) in my house cos when they all descend on me - its like foxes in a chicken coupe (me being the chicken) and I can't get a word in edgeways, ha ha.  My music tastes are varied - which include some classical, 70's and 80's stuff.  If I can find what I mean - I'll add it to this.  On the Christian front, Michael W Smith, Steve Curtis Chapman and Third Day.

Well folks, for the time being my brain has run dry on things to say.  But if I think of something, be sure I'll let you know.  Oh and by the way, I've got a good sense of humour too, and sometimes it leaves the planet, LOL!!!   Bye for now.

It could be kidneys, it could be something else.
As some of you may know, I've mentioned from time-to-time that I creak like an old gate. I've taken this for granted as being a sign of old age ...

Stevie, I'm glad your profile remains, even if you aren't really using it that much anymore. I continue to pray for your bundle o' issues, mainly of course the health issues. I thought about you as I read 2 Cor. 4:16-18
