Its not those bars that hold her prisoner,
Its something stronger deep within her.

Something that was always there,
confusion was what she'd declare.

But now with so much looking back,
confusion couldn't be the tack.

Though justified, she was always mean,
still something she just couldn't wean.

Used and abused all her life,
leaving her with so much strife.

She thought being bad was all she had,
but even then she was always sad.

Surrounded now by concrete walls,
her attention to it calls.

No she says, there's just no way,
it doesn't matter what you say.

All I wanted was to be loved,
and all I felt was being shoved.

I know that's You who's drawing me,
but I'm still mad or can't You see.

My prison is not within these walls,
It's in my heart... each time He calls.

The trouble with jumping out there on your own,
Is finding yourself now all alone.

Oh, The Lord is there, but you can't feel Him,
He never wanted you to say that too them.

What religious thing was that you thought you'd do,
Without The Holy Spirit unctioning you.

Wait on the Lord for what to do,
With all His love and power coming through.

Then You'll know the thing to do,
and if still alone, He'll be with you.

I love you.

Let His love strip you down to what you really are,
Created and perfectly placed, no less than a star.

Dependant on His love and not of yourself,
Incapable of producing that, which matches His great wealth.

Then,

Let His love fill you with power that you've never known.
A love that truly shines outward and never alone.

A love that has existed before the beginning of time,
Pulling us higher and higher to Himself we will climb.

And then,

He will show you through all you've allowed Him to do,
That all through eternity His focus was on YOU.

I love you.

The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

Reflection

Take confidence in this, dear believer: in the very suffering of the righteous lies the mystery of gospel victory. Sure enough, Christ's church is sore oppressed upon this earth. Just as even He was—for a servant is not greater than his master. By His righteous suffering, our eternal victory was bought and by our suffering for righteousness's sake, we glory in that same victory! Though in our days upon this earth, we may indeed perish from starvation, that is not an end which we should fear. We ought look forward to the heavenly consummation of our lives—when at long last we will be truly free from famishment. When at long last we will no longer hold to the promises of unshakable victory by faith alone, but will apprehend such by unfettered sight! O come Lord Jesus, come!
