I am a Blood and Fire Salvationist who is madly in love with Jesus Christ and passionate about the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army. I was ordained and commissioned as a Salvation Army officer in 1995, and have made a covenant with God and the Army to make winning souls the first priority of my life. Hallelujah!
After five years as a Corps Officer in two Corps appointments in the Georgia Division, I was appointed to the College for Officer Training for three years where I taught Homiletics and Salvation Army Doctrine. I was then stationed at Territorial Headquarters for three years as the Territorial Candidate Recruitment Secretary.
After having lived within a 55-mile radius my entire life, I was then appointed in June of 2007 as the Divisional Secretary and Divisional Evangelism and Adult Ministries Secretary of the great Arkansas-Oklahoma Division. I love it here!
I completed the requirements for my Masters in Theological Studies in December of 2006 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and graduated in May of 2007. I am now in a doctoral program, pursuing a post-graduate Doctor of Ministry degree in Redemptive Leadership and Organizational Development. It is both challenging and exciting. I have a thirst for knowledge and enjoy learning.
Without a doubt, I have the best friend in all the world. It is such a gift to have such a kindred spirit as a companion on my life journey. She challenges me and holds my feet to the fire. And speaking of friends...
I have incredible friends who serve as prayer, study, and accountability partners. We enjoy our study and prayer retreats, our weekly touch-base connections, and our monthly conference calls. It is so vitally important to have a covenant group of friends with whom you can safely share deeply, honestly, and vulnerably; trusted friends with whom you can laugh and cry, sing and pray, laugh and be silent, and struggle and grow. How I cherish these precious friends, our sabbath times together, and the sacred spaces we share!
I enjoy reading, nature, poetry, music, and the arts. I am a Starbucks junkie, an avid fan of Krispy Kreme, and give a big thumbs-up to Cirque du Soleil, the Blue Man Group, and Phantom of the Opera. But more than anything or anyone else, I am a huge fan of Jesus Christ. He has my heart! |
