About Me

Hi my name is Garry Williams and I am 53 yrs of age. My hometown is Athens, Ga and if you couldn't tell by the photo I am a Huge DAWG fan. As much as I love Ga. football it ranks fourth on my priorty list. 1- God 2- Family 3- The Salvation Army 4- Georgia Bulldogs. I have been married to my wife Yevonne for 23 years as of march 22 2008. I am the CSM of the Athens corps as well as sunday school teacher, bible study leader and willing to try whatever the Corps Officer needs from me. Yevonne and I have three children Captain Chad Williams who along with his wife Jessica are the Corps Officers in Gainsville, Ga., Captain Candace Bottoms who with her husband Joe are Corps Officers in Moundsville, West Virginia, and Tamara Steward who lives here in Athens. We started attending the Corps in Jan. 1990 and have never thought of leaving. I have the most wonderful wife God could have given me She has stood by me through liver disease (had transplant in july 2003) and now she is helping cope with the fact that my new liver is full of inoperable tumors. The next several months will be tough on both of us as I have started oral chemo.

Thanks for coming last night, Garry.  I know it takes a lot to ride in the van, luckily Amber was sick, so you had a little relief.  Thanks so much for your comments to my blog.  It really does mean a lot that you call me "friend."  I look up to you a great deal, and will continue to life you up in prayer.
