I am a baby boomer living in Atlanta, Georgia. I am originally from South Carolina. My life revolves around my family and my calling to be a Salvation Army Officer.
I grew up in the Salvation Army. I was saved at an early age and called to be a Salvation Army Officer as a teenager. I am not perfect but I want to live a holy life with God's help. I asked God for that second blessing of holiness. He answered that prayer and continues to help me grow in our relationship.
I am married to the best woman in the world for 30 years this year. I have three sons who are a joy for my wife and I. Two are grown and married to smart, beautiful, Christian women, an answer to their parent's prayers. The third is in college working on a music degree. The other brothers are also in the music field, one in public school education and one for the Salvation Army. All three are fine, talented, Christian young men.
I have been a Salvation Army Officer with my wife for 30 years this year. My wife and I have been ministers/pastors at Salvation Army corps in the south as well as headquarters officers. I am now the Assistant Principal for Training and Business Administrator for the Salvation Army Evangeline Booth College. I enjoy teaching and preaching. I am a detail person. I love to plan and organize things. I am a quiet leader. I wish I was more of a people person. I need to work on that. Sometimes, I feel very insecure and inadequate for my roles. However, I am learning that it is not about me or how I stack up compared to others. It is about what God is doing and how I can fit into his plan. If I focus on that, it does not really matter what I am doing or where I go. I can be happy doing whatever God wants. | | Movies | | Music | | Books |
