Biography
Adelle Arwen was born in Liverpool, Sydney Australia. At the tender of age of 3, her mother began teaching her how to play the piano. Adelle instantly fell in love with the instrument which paved the way for her music education during her early years. She clearly remembers the joy of listening to her mother playing the cheerful Chopin Waltz (Opus 18 BI 62). It was so captivating that it caused Adelle and her sister to put on their best sandals, and waltz together around the lounge room. Singing was also highly encouraged in the family household and Adelle was certainly a natural when it came to her vocal ability. She and her sister would often sing duets to entertain their parents during the long drives from the city to the country towns where they later resided. These sessions included songs like The Gypsy Rover, Swing Low Sweet Chariot and Rock my Soul in the Bosom of Abraham. Their father even recorded their young treble voices, for their fun and delight.
Adelle became a faithful member of the school choir and won a talent quest performing a solo a ccapella version of “The Lord’s Prayer” made famous by Sister Janet Meade. During her high school years she performed in several stage musicals which included playing the role of Benjamin – one of the brothers in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. She also performed a solo item and showcased her dancing ability in the church musical “The Word Made Music”. Her love for stage musicals was nurtured as her mother took the family to see the shows of Andrew Lloyd Webber, like Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and The Phantom of the Opera. As Adelle entered her teen years she eventually completed her Eighth Grade piano exam and Seventh Grade Musicianship (Theory) exam. This period also opened the world of pop music to her. She would often listen to pop rock artists, contemporary gospel music and rock bands. She naturally began singing in these styles as she accompanied herself on the piano. She then began performing in churches, youth groups, weddings and various functions.
However music was never considered as a viable career path in her family. Instead she was firmly ushered to pursue a more “serious” professional career like medicine, law or accounting. Adelle managed to complete an Economics degree from Sydney University and worked for several years in the accounting field, but was totally miserable. This led to a long period of depression.
A friend then suggested she do a course with a missionary organisation called “Youth With a Mission”. It was here that she found her true calling and vision for her life, that is, to use all her gifts and musical talents that God had given her, to bring a positive message of hope and salvation to the world. Due to Adelle’s own struggles, she especially developed a desire to reach people who are also suffering in life. Coupled with her contact with the Salvation Army in later years, this developed into a desire to become an advocate for social justice in society. This was a catalyst to the formation of the organisation “Strength In Your Struggles.com”
As Adelle began to forge her own music career, she was able to express the reality of her own struggles and how she tapped into the supernatural power and strength from above, to overcome what seemed to be insurmountable obstacles. This is why her music is so down to earth, genuine and honest, which sets her apart from many other Christian artists. People have found it easy to relate to her lyrics and can feel the Holy Spirit ministering to them through her songs.
By the end of 2008, Adelle will have completed five special albums of songs. They are:-
1. Secret Strength Volume 1 2. Secret Strength Volume 2 3. Transformation 4. Facets of You
5. Sword of the Spirit

However Adelle has forged her own distinct brand of pop rock music which contains a fusion of jazz, blues and folk elements. She even has a classical touch in some of her songs as she reveals the higher range of her vocal ability. Therefore what is unique and outstanding about her music is her effortless ability to flow between these different genres but always keeping within her foundational pop rock genre. Along with this musical diversity, she also writes her own songs, arranges most of her own material, plays piano and even designs her own CD artwork. Which makes one ask, is there anything that Adelle can’t do?
It is clear that Adelle Arwen is a force to be reckoned with in the music world and a truly professional artist, who has all the necessary elements to be around for a long time.
