About Me

Hello every one, I'm DeenaCarey. I'm a native of Brooklyn, NY yet raised in OH. I am a seasoned artist and long time pursuer of many dreams.  I am a performing artist with talents that branch off into:  poetry, song writing, dancer, actress, playwrite, composer, arranger, recording artist, and many other things. I use every gift and talent to reach as many as I can for the kingdom.

I have traveled this country ministering in song and presenting the Gospel, coming across some very facinating individuals who are breaking the tradition of religion and have supported and participated in these areas of ministry & performance.... meeting some who may have forgotten me. (I'm still moving guys.)   Although I am well known for being a Psalmist,  I am a licensedordained & consecrated  Preacher and Prophet of the Gospel. Teaching in workshops on the experience of praise & worship with "creative arts," from mentor, the late Brenda Waters out of Texas, ministering to women of abuse, those in prisons, exorting the youth, participant in many outreaches and encouraging individuals to find their place in the body of Christ and experience God & true relationship with Him non-traditionally.
Crowned the first Miss Akron Teen Christian of the Akron and Vicinity Baptist Ministers & Minister's Wives Association in 1981, I began my journey standing out like a sore thumb; 2nd place winner of oratorical contests, singing in and directing choirs for years as a teen, first freshman soloist of the Buchtel Gospel Choir, in many years, receiving the Most Valuable Award in 1981also, appearing with the choir on Fox 8 as well. Not realizing I was being prep-ed for greater works, I participated in school plays and musicals, I was voted most talented female of my class & received a scholarship to the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma, landed my first college level play, A Ghost of A Chance by Tracy Tubman, directed by Ted Lyde (who appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show), at Akron University and o
ne of the first to introduce spiritual dance as a teen to the churches in my area with much rejection, ridicule and very little support, but I continued to use all gifts and talents to worship God in some way. Look what God did in our churches today anyway! I am also a first year graduate of the Supernatural Ministries Training Institute of Mark Barclay Ministries, in Midland, MI.
Since the early 90's I've been seen nationally on the Bobby Jones & New Life Gospel Hour as a showcase, the Word Network & local Trinity Broadcast Network featured soloist & showcase and host for the local Cable Station for the Community Fellowship Hour.  Blessed to have opened up for various artists such as Marvin Sapp, for the New Day in Hough, 2004 in the Ward of the late Fannie Lewis in Cleveland, Ohio, the Winans, in the "Say No to Drugs" Campaigne in Akron, Melba Moore, La Shaun Pace, headliner of Kristi Starling, for the Cavs game Family Night Out at the Gund Arena in Cleveland in 2004, Yolanda Adams, a background singer as well at the Canton Civic Center & Karen Clark Sheard, to name a few over the past 8 years .  The recipient of the Female Vocalist of the Year/Contemporary Gospel Award by the National Office of Bobby Jones Award for Gospel Music Excellency, the Women of Gospel Award, from a prominent local church, the Hunt/ Jewels Performing Arts Award in 2005, the Excellence in Theatre & Performing Arts, for plays Octavia,  I'm Coming HomeEvery Day PeopleFaces, & Somebody's Calling My Name  by playwrite Jewelene Banks of Jewel Box Productions/Hunts Classix Productions, as lead actress, soloist and background singer.  Also opener and actress in On Judgement Day  by Bishop Randy Clark of Clark Entertainment Group, background vocalist for various recording artists, and featured guest solo of the Larry Gibson Project, debut of first solo recording in 2003 entitled "What God Has Done," that received air time on title cut "What God Has Done," & "Take One Step" on 93 FM of Cleveland, OH, WABQ, performed in Radio One's Detroit Gospel Extravaganza, and as far as Chicago Radio Stations. I participated as a soloist in the Gospel meets Symphany at Akron University twice. Currently in the process of getting my first  book published. I am also studying to get my BS possible Masters in Business Administration and starting my own business. (Whew) I stay busy!
Reconciled with Purpose Ministries was birthed during a traumatizing time in my life, that left me standing alone....right where God wanted me. I thought I would never make it through but Hallelujah! I thank God I have been blessed to survive victoriously! And so, RWP has gained momentum, as I grow, it grows. I've gained the respect and support of some great heavy weights in the gospel who sincerely encouraged me to move forward, such as, Bishops, Prophets, and legendary icons likeAlbertina Walker, Donnie McClurkin (who prophesied my son's arrival to the world as a great man of God,) & Beverly Crawford and so I go...just Deena. Thank You all for everything! I've learned to surround myself with the people who really love and support me...it makes all the difference...real prayers make a difference!Pressing on to reach my dreams, I MUST stay in His perfect will.  Now the wait is over & it's time to step into my long awaited destiny and benefit from years of laboring and fulfill that which has been promised me years ago. My time is now and despite the detours, distractions & haters....my path is clear....God will be GLORIFIED

Interests
You can hear my music on myspace.com/reconciledwithpurposeministries. You can also view video clips that are being updated and will soon arrive on youtube. Just know I love all types of music...considering 1 John 2:15-17: get the meat & spit out the bones! I love people from every background and culture...there's so much to learn from others. I read a lot and love being who I am in God...the developing processs isn't always so bad -because I reap the benefits of obedience: when I need a blessing and when I don't...oh God really loves me! Plays and stage performance was my major right out of high school. I have done it all, build sets, danced, ran lights, curtains, gels, sound cues, video taping, ticket sales, costume design and actually got on the stage and acted, lol. My favorites, The Wiz, West Side Story, Raisin (musical of Raisin in the Sun) I play a "little" piano, and sing, sing, sing!!! being floor manager, and stage assistant....lead me to directing my own play....I had sooooo much fun!!!!and we had a blast! It's always been my love and it came naturally. I'm at my best when I can do what I know with a boost of anointing to carry it all to the top! I've learned so much from the people in this field and even in the studio recording. So I'm tying it all up in the Gospel and one day it will flow like a vulcano errupting....but spreading good cheer and not disaster! LOL! Thank God for His favor.... it's a wonderful thing to have in times like these.
Movies
Stage and movies...there are so many I could name.....but there are lessons to catch in everything you see...again...get your meat and spit out the bones....this is reality!
Music
Let's just say I love everybody, from the Canton Spirituals to Jars of Clay! Everyone in between is just as great as the rest. Positive and encouraging music always gets the best of me and to put scripture to music is the ultimate...so I enjoy them all!

Hello My Sister!
Grace be to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ!  I am so happy in Jesus about you!  Todd has come and gone this year.  Maybe the next time he comes in town we can have fellowship time together.
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you!

Peace!
