AJ is a strong dude, so when I saw him in tears I knew something serious was up.

As we hugged, he immediately told me that a call came in on Saturday regarding his deployment to Kuwait.  For a moment I knew how fathers feel when there son gets a call to serve our country.  I was proud of AJ but in my heart I was just as shocked and confused as he was…….he just returned a few weeks ago from boot camp!!!

It is awesome that he came to his church family for comfort – HE GETS IT!!!  AJ understood that this is God’s plan.  I am reminded of the song by Mercy Me “Bring the Rain”.  We are to bring Glory to God regardless…..even in times of “rain”.  I am confident AJ will do just that.

As a church I ask you to pray daily for this young man,  this new missionary to Kuwait!!   

I have to be honest….when Ethan ask the church for support towards his Eagle Scout project at MCCS my expectations were all out of wack. The Family of Faith Baptist in the little town of Covington VA has a heart that the 4 walls of the church cannot hold!! Not only did the church family meet the financial goal, but folks chipped in where they saw opportunity to make a difference. 

One example I must mention is Katrina Bradberry…….She jumped in with both feet to help Ethan come up with a final design, secure the cabinets, and get them shipped to a facility in Texas for pick-up. She did not do this to get an at-a-girl……….she did this because she loves the Lord and has a heart for the kids at MCCS. Thanks Katrina!! Tears fill my eyes while I type this message because I am so touched. Touched by the Faith Family. Touched by my son who wants to make a difference in the mission field.  Touched by a man who sobbed because he could not return to Mexico with the mission team this year.  Touched by the Love of Jesus. Touched because my son wants to uses any extra money to help buy dishes for the missionary's new kitchen.  Touched buy the Deaf children at MCCS.  Touched by God's Grace.

 I can't wait to get back to Rio Bravo and hug the kids, and feel as close as I think humanly possible to my Jesus!!!! Thanks again to FBC – If you see Katrina please tell her how much she is appreciated.
