| My name is Randy McLin. I'm the father of Ava McLin, a little girl with a terrible genetic disease named Spinal Muscular Atrophy. You can visit her webpage at FriendsofAva.com to learn more about this brave little girl and her struggle.
I titled this, "A Father's Hope", because that's what breathes life into me every day: hope in Christ. Hope that Christ will one day answer my family's prayers that my daughter be cured of this awful disease, if that be the will of God.
Ava's a bright, joyful little girl who lights up a room wherever she goes. And that's the wonder of her, because she goes from room to room in a tiny wheelchair built for toddlers like her. My daughter's disease (SMA) robs her of about 70% of her strength. She cannot sit unassisted, let alone walk or crawl, and has a tough time picking things up.
It's heartbreaking for a parent, but we're doing the best we can to make sure Ava has everything she needs to lead the best life she can. Again, visit FriendsOfAva.com to read about a terrific little girl. |
