About Me

He has shown you, o man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.                       Micah 6:8

I
have served as pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bradford since July 2003. I am married to Deborah for 28 years. She works as a therauputic staff support person for Beacon Light Inc. in Bradford. She is also a registered interpreter for the Deaf. Our joy in life has been raising our family. We have five children, Sarah, a nursing student in Midway Kentucky, Hannah recently graduated from High School, Rebekah a rising high school senior, Leah who will be in sixth grade and Caleb who will be in fourth. As a family we enjoy, hiking, camping and travel. My personal hobbies include golf, fishing, bicycling, jogging, reading and cooking. I am a novice cross country skier. The Pittsburgh Pirates will forever be my favorite sports team and Roberto Clemente my sports hero.

I am an ordained Elder in the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. I have been serving Churches since 1982. I have previously pastored the Bethel and White Oak United Methodist Churches of Titusville Pa, the Grace United Methodist Church of Sharpsburg PA, the Millvale United Methodist Church of Millvale Pa, and the Cabot United Methodist Church of Cabot PA.

I hold a Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore Kentucky. My wife Deborah and I are both graduates of Asbury College where we met.

My passion in ministry is helping persons grow as followers of Jesus and leading congregations to discover God's call in mission and ministry for the days that I am with them. My personal mission statement is to be a faithful pastor in the places God calls me to serve. My greatist treasure is my personal relationship with Jesus Christ, modeled for me by Godly parents, nurtured by faithful congregations and pastors, and possessed by faith through the work of God's Holy Spirit since a boy of 16 years.

I was so happy to see that Bob Dylan was your first music choice. I have that album and love it! My dad is the one that got me hooked on Bob! Needless to say, Chad isn't crazy about it, so I end up listening to him in my car!!! My favorite song by him is "You ain't going no where." I guess it's for sentimental reasons partly, my dad actually sang that song to my mom the night he proposed to her! Then he and I sang it a lot when we were little. That was one of the few he can play on the guitar! :) I was also interested to see Johnny Cash on there. He's one of my other favorites!

Dennis - the service was amazing yesterday!  From the children's sermon - to your message (which was wonderful!) - to Tim calling the men down front to sing Be Thou My Vision - to your prayer/blessing of the men after the song!!  From where I was standing while the men sang, it just gave me goose bumps and I just stood there praising God for the Godly men who are a part of our church family.  Not sure how much of that service was actually planned or how much was just following the lead of the Holy Spirit, but all that matters was that the Spirit was there and it was an amazing morning!!  Thanks for the part you played in it!
