My desire is to know Christ. The more I know Him, the more I want to boldly be His witness in this world which has a void. I am only one grain of sand that can help fill this void. I like to study the Word of God and receive the Holy Communion almost daily. Why? Because through baptism I am called to be holy. All Christians are called to be holy: "In reality, it is the common destiny of all men called to be
children of God, the universal vocation of all those who are baptized.
Holiness is offered to all.... Only when one is in contact with the Lord, is
one full of peace and joy, and in this way it is possible to spread
everywhere serenity, hope and optimism." --Pope Benedict XVI, August 20, 2008 If only everyone could know how true this is! Everyone can know if one desires it. And if you really know Christ, won't you be thrilled to proclaim it? Fill the void! This reminds me of something Father Raniero Cantalamessa, OFM Cap wrote (see http://www.zenit.org/article-23438?l=english): "Believing in the divinity of Christ is not enough; you must also bear
witness to it. Whoever knows him and does not bear witness to this
faith, indeed even hides it, is more responsible before God that those
who do not have this faith."
Let's all be humble and holy so that the people who don't know Christ won't be repelled away from the Church. |
