| Interests Through a series of WHAT I THOUGHT TO BE unfortunate events at the time, but now I see the Lords hand in it all, my family became acquainted with the Emergent Church. If you are not aware of this movement, take note, and become educated. Rob Bell, "My Velvet Elvis" and producer of Nooma videos, Brian MCLaren, and many others are teaching a form of Godliness to rooted Christians that is nothing more than apostasy. You would be suprised at the educated, well versed believers that are falling for the false teachings of the emergent church. Under the guise of becoming relevant to outsiders, becoming more community oriented and reaching a postmodern generation this bacteria is creeping into ALL denominations. No denomination is exempt. I praise God that we were exposed and now have been given this calling to proclaim the Truth about the emergent church. Standard Publishing is currently publishing a resource called,"Faith Cafe" that actually promotes two men on a DVD who are involved with Contemplative prayer, or Centering prayer, all part of the emergent philosophy. I hear repeatedly from Godly men and woman that there are good things in the EC. Please don't fall for that lie. The only good in the EC did not originate from them, but came from us, as Christians, and it is good because it originated from the Word. Do you search through the trash to find your family a meal every evening? No, you don't. Why do Christians find it acceptable to search through the trash of emergent teachings to find a gem of truth? ok, can you tell this is heavy on my heart. Jesus is coming back soon, will you be ready? Don't be deceived by this form of Godliness that is not really Godly at all. We can be sure that there are absolutes in this world and we can be sure that what God teaches is the Truth. Get to know Him and His word.
Ok, now, I actually do have other interest besides the EC. I love the ocean, walking on the beach with my hubby and hunting for sea shells. I love history, home schooling and reading. I know I'm a huge nerd. Ha! |
