Some of you may be asking WHY? Why am I reading this blog? This is why - there is a Young Adult Mission trip (ages 16-25) scheduled for Aug 10-Aug 16. Well, we need a willing adult male (over age 25) to join this really awesome mission. It may not be you....but you may know someone who could be the person we are looking for. So I am asking you to either prayerfully consider this really awesome Mission trip or pray that we find some one who you think would fit the opportunity. Requirements: A willing and compassionate heart Have a week of vacation they are willing to give up Ability to drive half the trip to Brownsville, Texas and back again in a week Be willing to drive in Matamoros, Mexico Must be able to endure HEAT (it is hot in Matamoros) Be able to work long hours Passport, greencard, or birth certificate and picture id. $200 cost What do we do in Mexico? We build wood frame houses appx. 12 X 20. They have 2 doors 2 windows, no running water, no electricity (it is in part of the Colonia) with concrete floors. The people who get these houses think they are mansions. This will be my 5th trip to Mexico - it has made a real impact on my life - let it change your life too. Thank you, Margie Rozelle

I got home about an hour ago from APT G, For those of you who don't know what APT G is (A Place To Go) it is a special needs ministry at our church, a parents night out (of special needs youth) on the 3rd Saturday of each school month. They range in age from 6th grade (12 years old) to 12 grade (21 years old). We have video games, movies, karaoke, snacks, and a craft. The kids are matched up with the youth from our church and even a few kids home from college. Tonight was pretty special. The kids, all of them, were playing, laughing and having a good time. They make up games and rules as they go along. Kind of a tag- police - special agent - who knows what else game. They were having fun -interacting with one another just being kids and that is what is important. There are several that have captured my heart. Trey - is a ladies man - he was telling me about all his girl friends. Audrey - our very own cheerleader - so cute, so very happy. The church youth are so good with them; some of the kids never miss. They have such a gift of love that they share, it is amazing to watch. My place is crafts- I come up with an easy craft that the kids can do -a lot of the kids and several adults as well - will make time to do the craft. Some of the kids are very creative - and some well are not as creative. So if you are looking for a place and haven't found it; may be you should check out APT G. Come see us next month or if you know a special needs youth in the community please share this with them.
Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Labor Day - well I went on the web ( thank you Al Gore - lol) and found out a few things about the US federal holiday. It was first celebrated in 1882 on the first Monday in Sept., but it actually became a national holiday in 1894 by an Act of Congress. The Central labor Union wanted to create a "holiday" for the "working man". Today it kind of symbolizes the end of summer.
Well, if you are celebrating it by going to the lake, a barbeque, a party, or just sleeping in: be thankful that you can. You have a job, however exciting or boring it may be, that allows you to live in the lifestyle you have become accustomed. We are very fortunate to have all the amenities that we have. Remember to thank God for all that you have.
Thank you heavenly Father for the job that you have given me. When I get irritated about the boring part of my job - let me be reminded of all that it provides me. Without your love, patience, and guidance I would be lost. You are my guidepost, my redeemer, my savior. Thank you for providing for all my needs.
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing. So on the seventh day he rested from all of his work. Genesis 2:2
