3:21 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: 3:22 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; 3:23 they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.
I am totally hooked on these books and yes, they are pure mind mush. I read lots of non-fiction too. In fact I am currently reading about 3 different non-fiction books. (Boundaries, It's All Too Much and a book on Meditation)
I may have experts in the house, but once they get past the turn it on command........they are over my head. I think they are speaking in forgien languages sometimes just to make fun of me.
... this reminds me of my trip to Vienna three or four years ago. I enoyed "Legally Blonde" before my trip, and when I spent one day just riding the U-bahn around town, I noticed posters for the German-language version ...
... which was NOT called "erlaubterweise Blondine", the straight up English-to-German translation, but instead "natürlich Blondine" - "naturally blonde".
This misses the point of the pun, but that's not surprising, because most puns don't translate - apparently being "legally blind" isn't a universal thing, so being "legally blonde" isn't universally funny, either.
But it does remind us that we may miss a few things when we read the Bible in English.
