I was born and raised in a small town in Western Pennsylvania. Baptised in a Protestant church. Went to a Baptist church in my youth (my babysitter lived near a Baptist church and I loved going to the Sunday School the church held for the young'ins :) ) I lived the first 24 years of my life in PA, and had moved to Ohio in 1996. I met my wife when I was 6 or 7 years old. We were childhood playmates. There are actual stories floating around somewhere that my older brother had married us when we were kids and my "wife" ran and told her mother that she had to move out cause she was married..He He He...She eventually moved away and I hadn't heard from her in a long time. Then in 1992, I received a letter from her and we had our first date and the rest is history. We eventually got married (for real..lol ) on Dec. 31st 1999. An easy anniversary for me to remember.
As far as my personal relationship with Jesus is concerned.....during my teen years, I went astray from the Path, made some stupid mistakes, but eventually, I made it back onto the Path of Righteousness. I have my wonderful wife to thank for that. She is right there by my side, willing to walk hand in hand with me, there to show me the right steps to take along my walk. She actually joined our church first. I still wasn't ready to start my personal journey yet. Then in 2002, her church was in need of a new Pastor. They found one and I had told my wife that I would go and listen to the new Pastor's first sermon. Well....that was in 2002 and I haven't stopped going. He is a wonderful Pastor, willing to help anyone in spiritual or personal need.
Since joining my church in 2002 and starting my personal walk with Jesus Christ, I currently hold 2 positions with the church and I am contemplating on a third postion. I am the Head Usher for my team of ushers. We have 2 teams that switch each month and I am the head of our church's Transportation Ministry. Basically, if a member needs a ride to church or to a doctor's appointment, they call me and I arrange for them to have transportation to whatever need they have. And the 3rd position that I am considering is becoming an Elder for our church. Lots of responsibility there, but if I am destined to be an Elder, He will Light the way for me.
May God's Blessings flow abundantly upon you all!!
| | Interests | MoviesA Walk To Remember, staring Mandy Moore and Shane West, is one of my all time favorite movies. I will be adding more later or as soon as I can think of them. | MusicI really enjoy the music of Don Moen. When Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans and it's surrounding areas, I was heartbroken and saddened by the many people it had affected. I wanted to do something, but I thought, "As one person, what can I do? How can I, as one, make an impact on the life of one or a few total strangers?" I prayed for a way....and just like one of Don's songs....God Will Make A Way...and He did. I went to my church's Women's Group and pitched an idea to them....hosting a Pie Auction to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We came up with a neat title for our fundraiser....Pies For A Purpose. I also used "God Will Make A Way" as the theme for the auction. (If you get the chance to, click on the God Will Make A Way icon above, and it will take you to Amazon.com..from there, you can listen to the song.)
With a small congregation as ours (about 60 to 75 that come regulary), we raised more monies than I had anticipated. It was a great feeling to know that I made a difference in someone's life...a total stranger. | BooksI am not much of a reader, but one of the best books that I have read is Walking Taylor Home by Brian Schrauger. It's about a father's love for his young son, who has a rare form of cancer and the fight that their family goes through because of the cancer. It is mostly set up like a journal that the father writes in order to update family and friends. It is a true story. It is a compelling story....one that you will need a box of tissues handy. |

What a sweet story......so you would be one to agree, "he who finds a wife finds a good thing?' Awesome that she is a good support to you.....and.....you have been married at least 20 years technically......

Yes, I'm an Akron-ier but I'm not big on sports except wrestling. You know with Hulk Hogan, Jake the Snake, The Bush Wackers, The British Bulldogs etc. The newer wrestlers are a joke. Ha ha Blessings, Stephanie
