so my friend sent me this poem and i thought it was pretty great! :)

Becoming A Woman Of Excellence

A woman of excellence
Is what I long to be
Filled with your godly wisdom
So it is part of me

A woman of integrity
No matter what I face
Standing up for righteousness
And for your saving grace

A woman of destiny
Living out your plan
Knowing where you’d have me walk
Being guided by your hand

A woman of promise
Standing on your word
Holding on to all the truths
While carrying out your work

A woman of compassion
For the ones in the dark
Those that do not know your love
And have darkness in their hearts

A woman that will never
Compromise the faith
With what the world may offer
But will keep the narrow way

A woman who loves Jesus
And will only follow Him
Gladly to give up the world
So His light can shine within

Shakespeare and the Bible..

Ok so ...I read Romeo and Juliet earlier this year...and the language that Shakespeare uses isnt always easy to understand...its a great story and everything ...just sometimes hard to understand....the language is old and many of the words he uses isnt even in my vocabulary! But you know what? It is considered a classic! and a beautiful piece of literature...just the way it is... Now my question is .....if people can read Shakespeare...and understand it....it may take a lil work such as looking words up in a dictionary or studying some on certain topics...but people still read it and understand it! then why must we change the Bible to "modern day language" ? I understand that Shakespeare has "newer" versions but none are considered to be ....as beautiful or as deep as the original? Any person that has read Romeo and Juliet can tell you that every other version such as movies and such are no where near as deep or meaningful as Shakespeares original!! And it is the exact same with the Bible...by coming up with new versions....they are taking away the depth and the beauty of God's word!! The Bible is such a beautiful book! It is the most important book that you will ever read! So why read a version that has taken away part of the beauty or the power of it!?! I will never understand that..... Ok so....some of you who are reading this may not like Romeo and Juliet...but I am sure u know that it is a classic and considered to be one of the best love stories ever written! Well I can tell you that the Bible also contains a love story ....and its even greater than that of Romeo and Juliet...The Bible tells us that God sent His only begotten, sinless son to take our sin to the cross and die so that we could have eternal life through Him! He loved us that much!! He loved us enough to die so that we could live! and then on the third day He rose again!! There is also a happy ending to this love story....He is coming back for us one day soon! And we, who have recieved Him are going to join Him in Heaven! 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 KJV Now let me get this straight....some how it is ridiculous to say that other versions taken from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet are better or just as good as the original...but it is accepted to say that the NIV or the NKJV...or the ASV or any other version of the Bible that is out there is better than the original KJV (which is the Bible translated not changed for the English speaking people)....... Why is that? Now I realize that I will probably have MANY people disagree with me on this topic ...but when I read a book and the Bible references arent all the KJV I try to look them up in my KJV Bible to compare and its ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS more powerful and more beautiful in my Bible!! Now if you dont use the KJV...I will say that I believe your cheating yourself! ...and all you have to do to see that is next time your reading your NKJV or RSV...or whatever it is you may use....grab a KJV ....and compare.....you will be amazed!! A lot of people just dont use the KJV because its "out-dated"..well..... doesnt that just make it more precious? I hope yall can see the point im trying to make here....Like I said by using another version I think...well I know that you are cheating yourself! I know the Bible is hard to understand sometimes...but trust me its worth the extra time and the effort!
