I have helped with the Youth Group for almost 10 years and over the past couple of years have felt a calling to work with Special Needs kids. I am learning a whole lot and loving it immensely - just ask me about "Apt. G" or our "Classroom Companions" program.....
I'm devoted to my family - my wonderful husband, Mike and our two wonderful daughters. But, I must admit that I am finding it a bit difficult adapting to being a new empty nester....although I guess that is why I actually have time to set up my profile on mychurch......
I am so proud of both of our girls: Laura who is serving in the US Marine Corps in Japan and Teri who is a freshman at TCU (GO FROGS).
My hobbies include knitting, scrapbooking, gardening and kids of all ages!!
Movies
Mostly love those romantic comedies, anything about dancing, and anything with Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Richard Gere or George Clooney in it - I guess I'm pretty shallow... or just an eternal optimist!!
Music
I love listening to the soundtracks from my favorite movies, Christian contemporary music (at our 8:30am service or on 94.9) and Broadway Musicals....
Books
I love to read. I'll pick up a book rather than watching TV. Usually I read purely to relax. Mostly I enjoy a good mystery, or a feel good romance. I also enjoy reading books about Special Needs Children - I highly recommend "George and Sam".
