I've been attending Osborne for about 20 years. Let's just say that I started attending because God was drawing me from a large church that was hard to build a family church relationship to find a church that could be HOME. It was also about the time where God moved Robert and I to marry. Well, the rest is history.
We celebrated our 18th anniversary on 10/21/2007. That will be a very memorable anniversary. We spent the late afternoon / evening evacuating our house due to the wildfires. It was a mad dash to pack up the kids, dog, cat, guinea pig, our important papers and pictures when the fires came within 1 block of our house. Thankfully, everything turned out fine for us and our neighborhood. A neighborhood about 1 mile away was not as fortunate. There were about 8 homes that burned to the ground. :>(
We're blessed with three great kids - Collin who is now 16, Nathaniel who is 13, and Alisha who is 9 years old. I'm homeschooling our two oldest...which is great but sometimes a challenge. Oh my!! Alisha attends a great elementary school around the corner from our house.
I've been blessed to be on staff at Osborne for over 10 years. For the first 8+ years, I was nursery director. God then had plans for me in another area at Osborne: office manager - helping manage the finances and computer software / hardware. Thankfully, God provided Jennifer Hopkinson to take over the nursery. You're wonderful, Jen!!! :>)
In my free time (HAHA), I like to garden, scrapbook, photography, spend time with family and friends, and cook / bake. I also enjoy a good movie, shopping, and traveling. I love antiques, architecture and going to museums. Many moons ago, I would also do a lot of reading and scripture study. Since kids came along, I've not had that ability to really do the intensive studying...but one day soon!!!
We recently remodeled out kitchen and dining room. It's wonderful to be done. I'm looking forward to fully moving all the stuff back in and finishing the final touches (drapes, decorations, etc.). It looks great. I'll try to post some pics sometime soon.
Chat with ya later....Mary |
