Hmmm ... where does one start??? My 41 years of life ... well, I was adopted when I was just 5 days old from a Lutheran Social Services agency in Wichita, KS. My mom and dad have always been and always will be the best!! Both of my parents have PHD's in Educational Psychology ... I know that explains a lot about me and my behavior, right? My dad was a professor at the University of Arizona which is why I have always been and always will be a WILDCAT ... I grew up (since the age of 3) on the east side of Tucson. I went to Wrightstown Elementary, Magee Junior High and Sahuaro High School. I am the baby and the only girl in my family. I have a brother who is 10 years older than I am (Marc) and another who is 2 years older, Jon. Marc lives here in Tucson and Jon lives in Hawaii. Both of my parents grew up and went to college in Iowa. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Finance. My college years are pretty much a blur of fun and parties and crazy memories. However, I DID manage to graduate after 4 1/2 years. Four months after graduating from college, I got married. I lived and worked in Sonoita for about 2 years after getting married and then we moved back to Tucson ... thank goodness ... rural living is NOT for me!!! After moving back, I was a travel agent for awhile and held many part time jobs that I could do while the kids were in pre-school and school. My daughter, Bekah was born in 1991 and my son, Erik in 1994. My dad passed away in 1994 shortly after I found out that I was expecting Erik. It's been 13 years but it still hurts some days more than others. My dad and I were very close and it's been tough living life without him. My kids are the joys of my life and the apples of my eyes. They make me laugh often and I am so very proud of both of them. I have made many sacrifices for them but it is all worth it ... I love them both more than they will ever know or understand. I have many hobbies some of which I am still involved with, some not ... I bowl, play guitar, scrapbook, swim, ride my bike, run, tutor, volunteer a lot, teach sunday school, drive a lot, watch my kids play sports ... I love the beach (especially Hawaii)!! My pet peeves are people who smack their gum or their food and lately parents who take their little kids to the store late at night and expect them to not be cranky ... I also have little patience for people who drive like idiots ... I have been on a mission trip to Tanzania which was amazing and unforgetable ... I will NEVER bungee jump but would like to sky dive some time even though someone will have to push me out ... I was born on a Friday the 13th and 13 has always been my lucky number and day ... I love my church and love to worship our Lord ... looking forward to new friendships with brothers and sisters in Christ through this really cool site ... THANKS, Cheryl!!!
