| I was born in Morehead City, NC. I have a twin sister and a brother. We moved to Raleigh when I was 3 years old. I met Mike when I was 18 and married him after 29 days. We moved to Durham in 1967. I have two daughters: Angie and April. I have 6 grandchildren and a great grandchild (born March 8, 2007). My husband and I were married 43 years when he went to be with the Lord. We have been members of Christian Assembly Church for over 30 years. I have known the Lord for most of my life. I think staying in fellowship with other Christians is one of the most important things you can do to keep from falling away from the Lord. Fellowship through Bible Studies, Sunday morning services and worship, breaking bread together, and sharing in small groups are the ways that I keep in touch with my brothers and sisters in the Lord. I also go to Bible Study Fellowship. This is my 7th and last year. I recommend it to everyone. It is a 7 year Bible Study. When you finish you have basically gone through the whole Bible. I worked for an accounting firm in Durham for 5 years then went to work for Caramore Community, Inc. in Carrboro, NC as their Staff Accountant and Office Manager. They are an independent work and living program for the mentally ill. Their board of directors consist of Christians. I worked for them for 14 1/2 years. I now do volunteer work for them as well as function as a board member. | | Interests Sewing, Quilting, Scrapbooking, I love going to thrift stores. I love to worship the Lord through dance. I would love to travel more. | | Movies Pride and Prejudice, Return to Me, Secondhand Lions, Shall We Dance, High School Musical, Eight Below, The Inheritance I just saw Wild Hogs and Music and Lyrics. They were both funny movies. I like the movie One Night with the King. It's the story of Esther but they took a lot of license in doing it. It does not run true to scripture but it's a lovely romance story. | | Music Contemporary Christian: Third Day and Chris Tomlin are two of my favorites. Country Music: Josh Turner, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Tim and Faith McGraw Folk Music: I like Cindy Ribet. She plays hammered dolcimer, guitar, fiddle and piccalo. I also like Allyson Krasse | | Books The Bible, The Mitford Series, The Inheritance, Books by Nicholas Sparks, David Jeremiah, Charles Swindoll and of coarse the Left Behind Series I read a lot of quilting magazines | TelevisionI watch David Jeremiah at 7:00 Sunday Mornings. I like 24, CSI Miami, CSI Las Vegas, NCIS, The Unit, Hallmark Movies, Numbers. I love to watch the ACC and NCAA Basketball tournaments and I like NASCAR
