I am a happy wife and mom to 3 amazing little boys and a special girl who is like a daughter to us. My passion is to help children living in poverty, especially orphans, and we are in the process of adopting a little girl from China. I love chocolate, roses, coffee, reading, spending time with the Lord, and having fun with my family. I love goofing around and girl talk, but not gossip. Most of all I love Jesus!
I just wanted to add that I am also a volunteer advocate with Compassion International. Maybe you've heard of it. Anyway, it is primarily a child sponsorship organization working in 23 different countries, but it also has programs for leadership development for older teens, training and help for moms and children too young to be in the sponsorship program, and AIDS help programs especially in African countries. It is completely Christ centered and child-focused, and it's truly an excellent ministry. My favorite part about it is that every child is taught the gospel message and given the opportunity to accept Christ, even in countries like India where Christianity is rare. Each year, thousands and thousands of sponsored kids accept Christ as their Savior, and these in turn are a testimony to their families and communities. Of course their other basic needs are met as well, such as food, medical care, and schooling. Our family sponsors two children, and it's such a blessing to us to write and receive letters and pictures, and know God is using us to make a difference. If you are interested in knowing more about it, or are interested in knowing more about child sponsorship, go to www.compassion.com. Or, send me a message and ask me. I'd love to answer any questions you might have.
| MusicFernando Ortega--my favorite! Other favorites: Andrew Peterson, Selah, the Isaacs, the Martins | | Television I actually don't watch any TV except "Lost" anymore. We do enjoy that one show! There might be something else on that's worthwhile, but I haven't found it. |

Hey you! Yep, we drove to AL on Mother's Day. Ken dropped the kids and I off to help his mom through the first couple weeks of recovery following her hip replacement surgery. We left yesterday and are slowly making our way north again. (I'm writing from a hotel just south of Dayton.)
Guess what? We were invited to participate (preach/sing) in an October missions conference at our former church in Canton. We're so excited! There is SO much work to do to get to the point where we'd like to be by that time. What an adventure!!!
What are you guys up to?
Love ya,
Me

I had never heard of Chosen before finding that song on projectplaylist.com. They're a bit flat in some spots, but it sounds like family harmony to me, and I love that song! Glad you liked the music. :)

COFFEE!!!! I love it! :)
We're coming to the convention on Friday, but we're not staying the night. We've got teen visitation Sat. morning and there just wasn't a good day to move it to. Also, a friend of ours needs some help in the afternoon, so...
But at least we'll be able to attend the general session Friday night and do a little shopping. :)

This page makes me want to have girl time. It's very pretty. Thanks for commenting on my blog. Also thanks for being a back up voice of reason on the monster blog. We all just need to pray and pray hard for Gods will to be done with that.

I'm sorry I didn't call. Our church surprised Ken last night. After he had finished preaching for the youth night service, Pastor presented him with his preaching license and a laying on of hands ceremony. They gave him a beautiful plaque with the 'Road of Ministry' poem on it. It was beautiful! Our "afterglow" turned out to be a dessert fellowship. What a special night!!!
What's another good time to talk?

You know, I am really frustrated with myself! I'm used to other social network sites, and expect to be able to read your comment, hit "reply" and be taken to a page where I can respond to you. So I hit the button w/o actually stopping to read the word, and before I know it, your wonderfully encouraging comment has been deleted! Certainly I need to slow down and read buttons before I click them, but it sure would be nice if mychurch saved me the steps of going to your profile and clicking "leave a comment" and just allowed me to respond directly on your page!!! Well, I guess that's enough ranting...please forgive me. That's the third time I've inadvertently deleted a message that I wanted to keep.
As for tonight, I will call as soon as I'm able, but it might be late. Tonight is our youth service, followed by an afterglow, and I'm expecting our kids will be up way past bedtime. We will be praying for Cassandra's family. I'm so glad to hear that they're going to church! Great progress!!!
Alright, I will attempt to steal about an hours worth of rest now. Talk to you soon!
Love, Me
