At the ripe old age of 31, I look back at the last 29 years of my life with regret. Born and raised Catholic (not a good one at that either), at least I knew Jesus, or rather knew OF Jesus. It's one thing to beg forgiveness, it's another to repent in the heart and follow. So here I am. I put down the sword and stopped defending the "holy mother church" in exchange to defend truth instead of tradition. I never really studied the catechism, I focused mostly on the Bible, but veered toward the Koran to "find God" at the age of 16. That didn't last long, thankfully. During my stay at Nellis (I'm Army BTW, they hired us to defend the base because they deployed all of their cops overseas), I met a guy from another Troop in my unit. He was a fundamentalist. Come to find out, we shared the exact same beliefs on scripture, Jesus (the one in the NT, not the one in the relativist handbook of heresy), salvation, etc. My early church layperson who taught us in Confirmation class, looking back now, was more fundamentalist then anything, and praise the Lord for it, because a lot of her teachings I carried into adulthood. Long story short, I was a fundamentalist the whole time!! After ditching religious ideology, I received Jesus one morning when I decided to stop sinning, and live what I thought I believed. After reading about VBF in the City Life magazine, I decided to show up...2 years later. Anyways, that's my story, there's a lot of sin in there, which is one thing we all share in common. Praise Jesus that he was sacrificed so that murderers, adulterers, thieves, and liars could make it to his Kingdom, or we'd all be losers in the end. | | Interests I love Jesus, my kids, the Army, firearms, and serving my God who loved me enough to die for me.
I used to love, whisky, beer, women, cursing, profane music, and having an axe to grind about everything in the world. Praise God that man is dead! :)
Also into Scripture, history, politics, mathematics, theory, fire team maneuvering, anything Army related, dystopic novels themed in the Scientific Dictatorship (or Scientific Atheist Principle as the old Soviets used to call it), writing, reading, music (christiian), occassional guitar, debating, drawing, and taking photo's of myself in my garage for profile pic's. | | Movies | | Music | BooksCan't find one for WE, or the Oxford Companion to Politics, or the Oxford essential to the US government. Curses I say! | | Television Don't watch much television. When I do, it's either cartoons with my little ones, or a war documentary. Science channel's pretty good too. |
