| At first, I found this site to be an excellent addition to the VBF arsenal, but lately I have seen some disturbing trends emerge. I have seen open and free communication about belief and fate turn into something quite different. I understand that some individual's have used poorly chosen words and tactics to get their views across. These same individual's have views which may be an extreme compared to the majority. Although I am not necessarily aligned with these views, what I have found disturbing is the fact that these views are being removed from discussion boards and people are being urged to only say nice things. It almost seems as if an individual's views do not match the majority, that individual is immediately silenced. I hold Christians to a higher standard than that. To me that is the same as not welcoming someone into the church because they have spiked hair, or giving mean looks to the homeless woman in the back row. We should welcome different views and ideas. It challenges us to search deep within ourselves and our relationship with God to find the appropriate response. I don’t know what else to say. I’m almost at a loss. What would Jesus do? Would he silence the misguided, or use his words as an opportunity to teach the masses? What should we do? Maybe I am misguided too? Will someone look past his or her immediate hate for what I have to say and take the opportunity to teach me? I hope so. I really have a lot to learn in this life.
