| I am a retired Verizon (GTE) employee. I worked for them for 32+ years. Started as a clerk, worked my way up to next to the highest pay scale as an hourly employee, and stayed there many years. Finally my son was a settled young man and I felt okay about going into management. There I worked my way up to second level management and really loved my job. I did a lot of traveling, because in addition to having around 75 people reporting to me I also worked on system development and deployment. No, I am not a system type person, just had the knowledge to help the developers deliver a system that my team could use. I only retired because Verizon felt they had too many management employees and offered a retirement package that my financial advisor said I could not afford to turn down. So here I am, 61 years young and have been retired for 4 years.
I was a Christian, but did not attend any church. Was actually baptised years ago Disciple of Christ, then changed my membership to United Methodist. The people that I knew that professed to be Christians and attended church regularly turned me off. If that was what being a Christian and attending church was all about I didn’t want any part. I would just stay at home and love God in my own way. Then along came Pastor Gaye. You can see Bob’s blog to get our story about how she came to our life. I feel disappointed when I don’t have the opportunity to attend church more than once a week, who woulda thought! I am so proud and happy to be a member of the Trinity UCC Family!!! I have one son and three lovely grandkids. Drew will be 13 in December, Tyleris 8 and Amberlyn is 5. I guess you could say I am a doting grandma. The sun rises and sets in my kids. The boys play competitive soccer and do karate and maintain straight A’s on their report cards. The girl plays recreational soccer and also does karate. She is in pre-k so no report cards yet. There is no one like my kids.
I so look forward to the time I spend in church with my friends. I even volunteer for so many things that I can't believe it. I'm retired and yet found it very satisfying to volunteer in the church office since our assistant left us to go to school.

Some of my favorite authors are Nora Roberts, Karen Harper, Carla Neggars, just to mention a few. Then of course there is the Harry Potter series. I have read every book except 7 twice and am getting ready to start again. | | Television These are my favorites "Lost", "Criminal Minds", "Shark", "NCIS", "Smarter Than a 5th Grader" (which I am not), and "Ghost Whisper". Even though I frequently forget some of them. |

Well...what can I say...::standing and applauding:: that is an excellent about you. Now I feel like I know you. At least on a small scale. I can't wait to read some blogs about what wonderful siblings you have, I am sure you have some awesome kid brother or something. Anyhoo, you really did do a great job. =0)
