I am so fundamentally a Mother that I am positive, should anyone be interested, that my DNA when observed closely, would be a double helix comprised entirely of the letters M-O-M, chained together.

I love books, movies, trivia about anything, writing, laughing with my kids.

I once named an entire litter of kittens David_________ in honor of my friend David's birthday. We gave them 2nd names, (Zoe, Bob, Elvis, Thelonius Monk) just to keep them in some sort of order, but they were all named David. Just because I forgot to pick up a birthday card.

I have a Mother's birthstone bracelet with stones for all of my kids, including Matt Skeens, who I didn't give birth to, but should have.

I love my church family deeply, and I hate to play favorites, but there are 2 members of Redeemer who I aspire to be like when I grow up; Dee Carveth and Brandon Robinson.

-Dee has such an open heart for Jesus and doesn't seem to have lost the wonder of a child when she sees God move. 

-Brandon is brilliant, a phenomenal pianist and dancer, and loves God without reserve, even though he is quite reserved in all other areas of his life.

I miss Dan and Allie Piippo so much that when I pray for them I end up crying. Not for them, they're fine, I'm just a big selfish baby who wants them to come home.

I have been a Christian for over 26 years and still feel that I know very little about God.

Maybe that's what Heaven is for.
