Dear Friend, We have entered a new season in God and in our ministry. As we look all around, we see the evidence of that in nature. This new season seems to be affecting all things! For instance, so many people in the church have jobs that require them to work outside, and with all the rain coming down these months, it has certainly taken a toll on their financial stability. Many are having to rely on their savings for support. Still others are having to look for assistance else where. The Church is certainly doing its share of offering as much support as it can give but the greatest support that we can offer is prayer and encouragement! It's amazing that many people depend on the benevolence of others to get by, but that's not what God intended for His chosen People. You see, the word of God declares in the book of Mathew 21: v 21-22 " So Jesus Answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, You will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, "be removed and be cast into the sea," it will be done. " And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
This scripture teaches us not only do we have the ability to believe when we ask for something that we will receive it, but it also states that what was done to the fig tree we could also do. Too many times in our lives we tend to curse the very thing that Jesus is looking for in us to the point that we end up withering like the fig tree. Because we can not believe we posses what Jesus is looking for. Our way of thinking needs to change.
As a church that is moving forward with what the Spirit of God is speaking to our hearts, we are confident that if we continue to teach his people, they will gain wisdom and knowledge concerning what God has purposed for their life. Although, this season is affecting everything and everyone around us, God promises that this rain will not destroy his people. I believe that just like Elijah, God has given us the ability to be in control of when and how to speak to our situations. "And it came to pass after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying,"Go present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth." 1 Kings 18:1 "Then Elijah said to Ahab," Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant," Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked, and said," There is nothing." And seven times he said," Go again." "Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said," There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" 1 Kings 18:41-44a
Understand this about their situation, the drought was affecting everyone but God had a plan for His servant. Elijah declared, "their is the sound of abundance of rain." How bold was that statement when not even his servant could see a cloud in the sky. You see, Elijah wasn't governed by what everybody else was seeing, he was governed by what he was hearing. He could HEAR the abundance on it's way. It didn't matter that no one else could hear it, it didn't even matter that no one else could see it, the only thing that mattered was that God spoke it and Elijah heard it. Who are you listening to and what are you believing? Stop looking at your situation and stop listening to all the voices that speak negative to your life and start believing that you are called by God and that the abundance of rain is coming to your life to change and impact your surroundings. Be Blessed and Keep The Faith in Our God!
Truly Yours, Pastor Fidel Rosales
