Chris sent me a text message this afternoon at 1:00 P.M. from the Dominican Republic. He says things are going well and they did some prayer walking this morning. This afternoon, they plan on playing some baseball as a way to reach out to the kids in the community. He also says that "Rodolfo is the man!", which I can only interpret to mean that his language skills are proving invaluable and God is using him to build some good connections with the local people. Praise God for all that He has begun to do and ask him for more! Praise Him also for the good number of folks who came out last night for some prayer walking. We'll do it again tonight at 6:30 - hope YOU'll be there!

Hey everybody, This is Heather writing under Rodolfo's profile because I haven't created one yet :) As you all know, we are working on having people pray for our mission team the entire time they are away, but we are having a little bit of trouble filling in some half hour time slots. I know many people are already praying, but if you could add another half hour slot or pass this information along to some others to get them to pray it would help out a lot. I am going to post a schedule of open prayer times and if you or someone you know could possibly pray in any of these times please let me know. Prayer is sooo important and vital in this ministry! Thanks so much! Heather Rios galyean08@yahoo.com

We haven't even left yet, and God has thoroughly convinced me He is already at work. I am more excited now than I have ever been for this trip.
About 4PM my cell phone rings. It's Kris Keating, the guy from IL that is going with us. "Wink (I guess some people will always call me that), where are you?" he said. I replied, "In my house in Mississippi. Where are you?" His answer made me cringe, "Miami International Airport." Turns out he had booked flights for the wrong day.
You've got to know Kris to understand the next part. He wasn't worried at all. He just said he would get a hotel in Santiago and meet us at the airport there tomorrow. "No sweat." So, near-panic sets in with me. I was wondering if I had bought the wrong day, too. Did we miss our flight?
I rushed to the church to double check our information and on my way the phone rings again. "Wink, you're not going to believe this. They just announced that they overbooked this flight and are asking for people to volunteer to fly out tomorrow. And they are offering $800 in airline vouchers. I'm in the line to volunteer."
10 minutes later he calls back. "Got it. I am on the flight with you guys tomorrow. Free hotel. 3 free meals. $800 in travel vouchers." "AMEN" I said.
If this doesn't get you going, something is wrong.

View details. I Dare You to Pray This (A video from Francis Chan's blog.) I came across this video this week from the speaker who's going to be at Mississippi Baptist Youth Night next Friday. In this brief, two-minute blog, Francis has given me a lot to think about. I must admit, I think I would be afraid to pray this way just because I've grown so comfortable in the things that I have. I have to ask myself where my trust is - in my stuff and my income, or in my King and my Master?
It is teaching like this that makes me look forward to our students being able to hear from this man of God at Youth Night.

Last night's "Dad's night out with the kids" was a ton of fun. Many memories were made and I am sure all of us are pretty sleepy this morning. On the drive home, while trying to stay awake, I wrote a little song about our night. It's to the tune of "take me out to the ballgame" and in the key of B#. Wanna hear it? Here it goes. All 3 verses. And a 1...And a 2...
Sophie went to a ballgame with some dads and some kids she ate some hotdogs and dippin' dots then threw up on the floor of the bus and when Isaac went to get ice cream he fell and busted his knee and the paramedics were called in to stop the bleed.
Rawson fielded a foul ball before he even sat down Francoeur was called back to the big show Youngsy blasted a two run homerun When the game was tied in the ninth frame our girls soon started the wave then a run scored on a sac fly and we won the game
I was driving the church bus on our way back to home they all were sleeping but I was not I'm not sure if that's true or that's not cause there's not one thing I remember from Pearl to I-59 But the one thing the mammas must know is that we survived.
