“To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which works so powerfully in me.”-Col.1:29----------PowerAid---Jesus called Himself the Living Water. “He who drinks of this well will never thirst again.” Combine that with “Christ in you” and you have “the hope of glory.”---That is One powerful drink. So the call is “to all who are thirsty, come…drink.” Be empowered to day in Christ Jesus and do something for His glory.

"Let us not sleep, as do others." 1 Thess.5:6a Christians who isolate themselves and walk alone, are very liable to grow drowsy. Hold Christian company, and you will be kept wakeful by it, and refreshed and encouraged to make quicker progress in the road to heaven.---C.H. Spurgeon This great verse and dedicated preacher both remind the follower of Jesus to not get drowsy in this world but to stay alert. We need each other to stay awake. Let's talk with one another. And let our speaking be about the Lord Jesus. Stay near the cross. We can be easily lulled into believing that this world is all there is. Let Christ be the center today. ---Lord help us to stay on our toes, looking for your return.

The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.--Col.1:26-27 There is no mystery! The mystery is revealed! God's plan is Christ in you. For those who receive Him will become the children of God. There is no condemnation for those that are "in Christ Jesus". ---Stop the search! The historical Jesus, died a historical death, for the historical purpose of redeeming mankind. There is no reason to try to figure out what has been revealed. "...Christ in you, the hope of glory." Live for Him who died for you and was raised again. Make His Name famous. Join His story. (That's where the hope is.)

I'm still bummed out. I officiated a funeral for a baby that didn't quite make it. He just had a few more weeks to go, but something happened; and the heart quit beating before birth. ---In preparation I had no idea what to say, but God took me to a passage I've never heard at a funeral. In Revelation 4:1-3 John gets to peek into heaven. He observes a throne in the center of heaven and Someone sitting on it. I was reminded that no matter what we go through in this life, God is still on the throne. This death before a birthday didn't catch God off-guard and He cares more than anyone. ---So we mourned with the family. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted." This is one of those things that no one understands, but we trust in a Sovereign God. And this Soveriegn God gives us hope. King David knew that he would one day go to his child that died at birth. And we trust in Jesus who is the Resurrection and the Life. On this day, I was sad, but I was sure where this child was headed.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.--Col.1:21Who once were alienated: The ancient Greek word translated alienated (apellotriomenous) is literally “transferred to another owner.” This transfer of ownership, from God to Satan and self, has effected us in both mind and behavior.---Understanding this, we need a life transformation...a new life, and this new life is offered in Christ Jesus. We are at enmity with God. Something needs to happen to restore the relationship. Something needs to happen so we can get back in good grace with God. ---That something did happen AT THE CROSS! Praise Jesus today!
