My name is Hykiem Purnell. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA but currently living in Wilmington, DE. I am a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and youth pastor of Praise to the King Ministries, Inc. I work as a Behavioral Interventionist at Christian High-school and I love working with youth. (Especially the hard-headed ones)
I believe that my greatest testament to God's miraculous power is my conversion from Islam to Christianity. For years I studied the Quran and the Hadiths (stories) of the Islamic faith. As a child I remember making Salah (prayers) with my step-father, never really understanding why but out of respect and admiration for him, I did it.
Today I minister the gospel of Jesus Christ, operating as a prophetic voice in this "end time". The Lord has anointed me as a teacher/pastor/evangelist/prophet. I use my gifts of poety/rapper/song writing/play writing/film making to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ alive to all mankind.
I am currently working on many projects, such as my solo album, "Death of the Poet...", a few stage plays, producing creative activities for our inner-city youth and a television production through our church ministry.
My hands stay full...I just keep dumping it all on Jesus. He said cast my cares on. Him...so...that's what I do. I guess that means I really can't take credit for any of it huh?
That's OK...I enjoy making my Father look good. My "applause" comes from doing His will.
