Praise the Lord Saints!

I am Reverend Barbara J. Warren-Simmons, aka "Reverend Mother."  I was born and raised and educated in Detroit,MI, the city with two churches in every block. I am a widow, a mother of one daughter, grandmother of 10--3 girls and 7 boys and a great grandmother of the most beautiful girls ages 1 and 2 years  and one in the oven.. I am a daughter, an aunt to many, a godmother and a friend. Yes, I wear many hats.                                         

I was raised in the church: my grandparents ( the late Rev Elijah F. & Evangelist Alma Taylor) were ministers. My was teaching Sunday School by age 10, as well as singing in the various choirs serving as an acolyte and even helping on the usher board.  I started preaching when I was 15 years old for youth day programs and in the neighborhood. many told me one day you are getting to preach, my response was NO! NO! NO! My true call to the ministry began when I was 18 and I tried to run, Lord knows I did. I finally accepted my call to the ministry in May, 1976, under the leadership of the late Bishop Paul W. Lawson--as an Evangelist.

In 1980, I returned to a church close to my heart along with my grandmother, the Temple of St. Jude Spiritual of Christ, Inc., under the pastorage of  Rev. Arthur L. Posey affectionately known as "Rabbi."  He accepted me as his "daughter" upon the death of my grandmother and acknowledges me as such to this day. There I labored in the vineyard, learning all that was offered by this great yet humble man of God. It was during this time I attended Leland Theological Seminary and received a master's degree in Divinity. I traveled throughout this country  preaching and teaching God's Word. I humbly served as his personal assistant even after he accepted his call to the bishopric, and became the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc.

In 2004, I felt the call to do outreach ministry, I formed a ministry called GAP--GOD'S ANNOINTED PILLARS. The ministry with no walls that reached out to the homeless, addicts, thugs and all who cared to hear God's Word. As an intercessor, God allowed me to stand in the gap for all those who needs prayer, requested or not. God has delivered time and time again. We, my daughter and I, have a women's ministry, youth ministry, praise team, music ministry and now a mime ministry. We work in the community out of Booth Chapel COGIC--Spiritual on the eastside of Detroit.

 In late April, 2008 Pastor Felice felt a call from GOD to once more put her hand to the grind stone and asked me would I be her co-pastor and GAP Ministeries merged in with this new ministry to form THE TEMPLE OF LIVING WATER MINISTRIES.. SERVICES WILL OFFICALLY START THE SECOND SUNDAY IN JUNE.
