About Me

I was born October 8th, 1956 in Seattle WA. I grew up in a little town NE of Seattle called Bothell. Back then it was considered the "sticks", but to us the sticks were farther out and closer to the mountains. I did grow up in theMySpace Layouts - christmasmyspacegraphics.com woods though, my back yard was hundreds of acres of woods and trails. I was never inside. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister, me being the youngest. I was on the Ski Team from 7th grade - 12th grade, and in the summer I was several hundred miles north into BC Canada living in a Log Cabin (pictures to come later) with my grandparents on Canim Lake.

In September "81" I met George. We married in January of "82", and in January "83" had the girls (Heather and Holli) and receiving custody of Nathan (almost 3) in "84". He is the child of my heart, my oldest. Zack came in "86". We made our home in Eastern Washington in a town called Zillah. We loved it there. We lived on 10 acres of sage brush, tumble weeds, and rattle snacks, (desert land.) I believe our family moving here (Chelsea, OK) was by divine appointment. George was born and raised out at Cherokee Central, now known as Spencer Creek Area. He wanted to move us out here to meet and get to know his family in Chelsea, but I now know that, God had more than that on his mind for us. Emmanuel Temple has been our Church home and Family since we moved here from Washington in "94".

I was saved at a Billy Graham Crusade in "84, Franklin Graham was the speaker. Funny how things work out. I had started attending a church in town (Zillah), after I got married. I hadn't been to a church since my Grandpa pasted away in the late 70's, he was my spiritual father, mine not being around much. I sat in the very back that first Sunday morning my mind more on Nathan than on the message being spoken. I kept asking God to help us receive custody of Nathan. I even told him that if He would let us have Nate, He could have me the rest of my life. I continued to attend there, and the "ladies" of the church drew me in and made me feel loved and wanted. One of them unbeknown to me, had me on her prayer list. The list being the people she wanted to take to the Crusade.

I did go with her, I enjoyed the message and the music thinking after it was over we would just go home. I had no idea about alter calls, so when that started happening I kept saying..."no way, your not going up there" over and over, and as I was saying that over and over, my feet were going up to the front...ALL BY THEMSELVES!!! Next thing I knew, I was weeping and saying "yes Lord". One of the alter call ladies, was a lady from church, she held me and talked to me and helped me to understand what it all meant. I have been the Lords ever since and, Nate has been ours since that time as well. I got involved in children's church and an after school program called CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) kinda like Good News Bears. We attended Zillah Community Church for almost 12 years till we moved down here.

The Lord is my "everything", I couldn't even imagine a day without Him, or how I lived without Him for the years I did. I am alive because of Him and for Him I live.

Interests
My main interest at this point in my life is the Lord first and foremost. Our youngest grandchild Ben-Jamin and his daddy Zack live with us so our house is full of love and hugs and the always...no no Ben. Being outside has always been important to me. I don't get enough any more though. I've always been in the woods, mountains, riding horses or walking in the desert, being in OK has changed this, but I have found a few places to go that brings freedom to my inner self. I love to fish, smell flowers, do crafts and visit with close friends and family. I love to go to coffee shops, or sit in my yard with George on the swing and drink coffee. Birds singing and the woods "talking" are balm to my ears. Seeing the small herd of Deer we have walk thru our back yard almost every day is still amazing to me after all these years. Sitting on a lake side and "watching" is soothing. I used to ride horses a lot, but not since we've been down here. Generally speaking....I like myself and my friends and family. Life is peachy and I anticipate going home to our father, but till then I seek to do His will and not always patiently (I'm working on this one) deal with being here. I pray that while I'm here though, I will have an impact on the lost and dying of the world in this small corner of the world that God has placed me in. Hence my email name Rhefchosen. R is for Arlene, Hef for Hefner, and chosen for such a time as this. I am a work in progress (old metaphor, but appropriate just the same.) I like to write letters to the Lord, some time I will post a few. Other than that, just ask and I might give ya a verbal view of what gave me my testimony, we all have one to share. Be blessed and be a blessing.
Music
3rd Day, Leland, Delirious, Point of Grace, Southern Gospel. Old 70's, The Rat Pack, Perry Como, John Denver and much more, but not ugly spirited junk that's nasty and leaves ya feeling gunky. The praise music on Sunday morning and Wed night makes me feel transported and closer to Our Father. Ya Baby!!!

Television
Food Network, TLC, Travel channel, Andrew Z. is the bomb on bizzare food consumption, gives me the willys just thinking about what crosses his lips sometimes. I love Hallmark movies. The Survivor Man is cool, I hope I never have to put to practice what I see him do. Okay, I'm gonna expose myself here and let everyone know I do like to watch the "Gaither Hour" from time to time. Discovery is a fav. I don't watch the News or any of the commentary shows, yuck to that. I'm not ignorant to the news, but I don't like to watch it either. I love to watch winter sports, and Extreme sports, but not wrestling or ufc fighting, I leave that to George and Zack.
