[Seriously, TheROCC is currently cut off from the rest of the world, via cars.  Only parachutists, astronauts and that human-cannonball-guy-at-the-circus can attend... at least til the city finishes putting in a beautiful roundabout at our corner.  It'll be worth it though, I'm sure.]

Loved the Saddleback video though -- Innovative approach to using video-clips and YouTube... to expediate 'church'.

Hi, welcome to MyROCC.org website... including this main page VIDEO which I hope to do at least weekly.

Point is... While MyROCC.com is just for first-timers... who may typically think of the church as 'just Sundays'... In reality, the 'Church' continues Monday through Saturday as well... and is comprised of the interactions of ALL our people. 

After all, the Church is the 'eklesia'... ie, the 'called-out ones'.  It's US.... and not just our Sunday gathering.

This MyROCC.org site then is THE ONE CENTRALIZED PLACE where you can readily stay up on what's going on.  And it's where YOU can participate.

So what we propose to do here at least weekly... is to post a short video-clip about last Sunday's main theme, and provoke interaction here, as a learning tool.

It won't always necessarily be ME here on the video-clip... but the theme will continue from Sunday's lesson.  And this will be THE place where we together effectively create an interactive learning experience, as we seek to study what God has for us in His Word.

And of course the ongoing objective is to help everyone better know God... each other... and our neighbors who may also want to interact here.  And bottom line, love God with all our hearts and love our neighbors as ourselves.  It's a tall order -- so we need 7 days a week, not just one.

[continued at IndyChristian.com]]]>http://www.mychurch.org/blog/28287/Church-forest-teaches-Bible-lessonsSat, 19 May 2007 12:19:44 -07004ea4cbd8d7fb64c1c6f6922c6d4b960f<![CDATA[It Sure Felt Special To Me]]>No doubt thanks to Joey's Mother's Day video intro to the sermon -- asking children of all ages why their Mom is special -- the scene was perfectly set last Sunday for a time of special encouragement from the Holy Spirit.  By the grace of God, the message from Luke 2 -- surrounding the dedication of the baby Jesus and His subsequent development as a child -- seemed to really strike a chord with the Moms (both natural and spiritual).
To top everything off, Jessica Ruso performed two original songs for the occasion - very powerful.

Next week, we'll conclude our "Tale of Two Stories" series, and yours truly will be doing another dramatic monologue.  (I guess "once a child, always a child").  God bless you, and thanks for reading.  Hope to see you at the ROCC!]]>http://www.mychurch.org/blog/27392/It-Sure-Felt-Special-To-MeTue, 15 May 2007 13:36:09 -07000653943cda604027fee407dc05f10ff5<![CDATA[Joyfulness]]>Well, last week in the Forest was interesting.  We continued our lesson on Joy.  This week it is finding joy in tasks that we really don't want to do.  My dad used to say if you have to do something you don't really like, it is much easier if it can be done with joy.  Find something about the task that will make it more pleasant.  As Mary Poppins said "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down". 

We also had a Mother's day lesson about Ruth and Naomi.  I also used this as an illustration on someone who found joy in a task or obligation that was not necessarily always an easy thing.  Gleaning for wheat in the fields under the hot sun all day was certainly hard.  Where was the joy in this?  It came from God!  We can turn to him in the most unpleasant task or circumstance and He will give us Joy!  Yes, even in cleaning our rooms, taking out the trash, or even in being nice to our brother or sister! 

So next time you have that task to take care of, turn to Him first and last and He will bring you Joy in all things.
