I have lived a sinner’s life. Yes, I was lost but now I am found.... Praise God.
A year ago I gave my life to Jesus. In September of 2007, I started attending the Salvation Army church and I cannot thank God often enough for sending me into the loving arms of my new family. I have been blessed and I know it!
A wonderful lady named Anna planted a seed.... and now I am blooming where I have been planted.. each day is a new and wonderful experience as God reveals himself to me more and more each day. If you have not truly surrendered to God, I invite you to ask Him into your heart today so that you too can enjoy the most fulfilling relationship you could ever imagine.
In September of 2007 I also joined AmeriCorps Vista - which is Volunteer In Service To America. My job assignment for this year is to teach teens about disaster awareness. My work has also taken me into tornado stricken areas helping with volunteer assignments, donation management and working directly with the survivors and their immediate needs.With God directing my path, I have been honored to graduate the first Homeland Security Teen Cert class in the state of Alabama out of the JROTC Marines at Johnson High School here in Huntsville.I have worked with the 8th graders at Westlawn teaching them about disaster preparedness and to bring it all together the students assembled disaster kits from grant money and delivered them personally to 85 elderly members of a low income community. God has worked miracles in my life! He has given me strength to step out of my comfort zone and do something for others in His name. Praise His Holy Name!!!!
Sunday, February 17, 2008 I proudly put on my Salvation Army uniform and signed my Articles of War and became a Salvation Army soldier. I truly look forward to whatever God has in store for me now!
Well, Yes I have a sinners past.. there are many things I am not proud of.. but I am now transformed and redeemed by the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who allowed himself to hang from a tree to honor His Father... my Father, God in heaven to save me a sinner.
I cannot praise His holy name enough and I can never repay Him for all that He has done in me and for me. He died so that I can live.... and I live only to sing His praises and walk in His light. Now my past is gone. I have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus.

"When the Philistines heard that David had been crowned king of Israel, they tried to capture him; but David was told that they were coming and went into the stronghold. The Philistines arrived and spread out across the valley of Rephaim. Then David asked the Lord, 'Shall I go out and fight against them? Will you defeat them for me?'" (2 Sam 5:17-19).
When you are about to enter your destiny, there is always opposition from Satan designed to prevent you from fulfilling your destiny.
When Jesus was born, Herod tried to kill him. When Jesus was baptized and fasted 40 days, Satan came to tempt Him in an effort to derail his destiny. When David had been anointed king over Israel, God's destiny had been revealed for all to see-even Satan. So, Satan raised up the Philistines to try and kill David's destiny.
However, in response, we see David do two things. First, he retreats to his stronghold. It is a place of protection. It is a quiet place. Second, he inquires of God. It is here that he inquires of God for the strategy to defeat his enemy. God reveals it to him and he goes on to defeat the Philistines. In fact, David NEVER lost a battle because he learned to inquire of God for the strategy to defeat his enemies.
Do you know God's intended destiny for your life? Beware of Satan's strategy to attack you in the place of your destiny. His desire is to take you off this divine path.
We must follow David's example in response to the enemy of our souls. We must retreat to our stronghold, seek the Lord, and listen for His answer. Then, we will fulfill the purpose for which God created us.
Dear God, Friends can be so much fun, so encouraging, so good; but friends can be discouraging and pull me down too. Please help me to be a friend that is there for others; a friend who is loving and kind, but who will speak words of truth and warning when necessary; a friend who uplifts and prays for others. And God, please give me friends who will be the same way with me. All people need love and support. Please fill that need in my life with Your presence and with the presence of good, biblical friends and loving family. Thank you so much. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
