Like many other people who have ever walked through the doors of VBF, something happened to my life that changed me forever. And, of course, that is JESUS. And God’s timing isn’t what I even recognized as such, when I found myself feeling an unbearable void, and then I couldn’t even figure out what that void meant! My daughter Amy and I were hurting over the loss of her best friend kitty Max, and I look back now and see how God works! This may sound awful, but you would think that after my Dad died I would have been seeking God like never before, but I didn’t! Only He knows why He chose the death of kitty Max to get us to go to VBF! Lorne McCan had tried many years to get me to go to Valley, but I had 1001 excuses, right? But once I got saved, I regretted all the time that I had wasted not realizing how totally “ah-some” God is, let alone what Jesus did to make me free. I’m telling ya, Pastor Ron talks about being drunk in the Holy Spirit, and that was exactly what happened to me! My feet didn’t hit the ground the first six months after the LORD entered my life and my heart! Totally on fire! I just celebrated my 6th birthday 11-18-07! Now when I hear “Amazing Grace” I totally understand how I truly blind I was, and when Jesus touched me, I don’t know how, but he gave me the most precious gift I will ever receive! The Holy Spirit works double time keeping me in line! I could not live without Him! One of my most favorite verses is Psalm 73:25-26:
Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth.
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.
God has been more gracious to me than I will ever deserve, and it is a comfort to know that His store house of grace is inexhaustible as is His love, mercy, faithfulness, and His outstretched arms of forgiveness! O that I could be like Him! But I am happy to be a work in progress, and thankful He adopted me into His Holy family! All the Glory, all the Honor, and all the Praise to our sweet Lord and Savior…JESUS CHRIST forever and ever!
| | Movies | | Music | | Books | | Television TV used to be a big deal before Jesus became my focus. Good thing He came along when he did! In my opinion, there isn't really a whole lot left to watch without feeling anger or disgust! Hey, I miss the days of Gunsmoke, Andy of Mayberry, Have Gun Will Travel, Bonanza...Star Trek. I have been able to find a few favorites...Journeyman and LOST...oh and Ron and I loved to watch "The Potter's Touch"..TD Jakes...always awesome! |
