10:9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus `as' Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: 10:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame. 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same `Lord' is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him: 10:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
When I was 13 years old, I went to an event called "Aquire The Fire". It changed my life forever. I had grown up in the church, but I never really took my faith seriously. That weekend I gave control of my life back to God and immediately became on fire for christ. I asked God to show me what he wanted me to do...and to let his will flow over me in my life. He gave me a strong desire to lead youth. But the catch was that he wanted me to start right then even though I was a young youth myself. After very much prayer and meditation on His word, God opened up a chance for me to be the youth minister at a new church in Galveston, where I lived, along with Prince De V'shon. We ran it for two years. After a year went by, one evening Prince called me up. inviting me to attend a bible study at another church, which he did all the time. Not that was bad - because it's not - it's just that... He would always bring me to extremely charismatic churches. For example, they would speak in tongues and lay hands on people. And at the time, I wasn't completely ready for all that, and it would make me a little uncomfortable, but as I grew closer to my Lord, he has gave me a peace over it. Anyways, as I was saying, he called me up while I was currently playing "Gauntlet Legends" on Nintendo 64. Needless to say, I was not in the mood to go anywhere. He went on to explain about how the bible study was being held at "The Door Christian Center" of which he had been previously telling me about how great it was. Even though I was reluctant, I knew that I needed to go. As a youth minister, you are held responsible for the spiritual growth of the youth that you lead. And part of keeping them spiritually strong and healthy, you - yourself must make sure to stay strong and continue to grow spiritually. Because Basically, "If you don't grow, they don't grow." So we went, and I ended up playing guitar in their band that night. After a few weeks of attendance, they said that they felt led to give me and Prince Saturday night to do with as we please. Me and Prince had been talking about starting a band for awhile, so we prayed about it, and God gave us, not only the desire to take this opportunity, but also a peace over the whole situation. So we started a band named Soular with just me on guitar and him on bass, both singing. We used the night as a teen hang-out where you could praise and worship with the band at your liesure along with a short messege from me or Prince at the end. Our band grew from two to seven then back to four over the years. We did that over the next three years until me and Prince had to go our seperate ways; Prince went to college and I had to move to Houston for personal reasons. We had, on average, 60 people that would come every Saturday. Well in the first few months of running this event, these guys came in one time with some instrumentals and said that they freestyled for Christ. I love hip-hop and rap, so naturally I was excited. I thought it was awesome because I wasn't really satisfied with mainstream hip-hop. They inspired me to start rapping. That November I told my mom that all I wanted for Christmas was software to produce beats with. Me and Prince started our group G-Town Missionaries. I pray everyday that the Lord will bless me with skill and talent. And he does! God annointed our ministry and took off. We did our performance ministry every chance we got. It's amazing what God can do! Now, over four years later, we are still doing shows even though we're both at college in two different places, and have two CD's. But I rap because I love music, and I'm still not completely satisfied with mainstream today. I want to open the minds and hearts of many to new ways of thinking and looking at how God can work in their lives. If God can use me to change one life, even through the difficulties I create, I have succeeded in life. | | Interests | MoviesAbsolutely love this movie!
