Question on the Healing of Blind man requiring two touches from Christ!!! Now when someone came to Jesus for healing it only took Him once to do it. But if you notice in Mark 8:22-25, when Jesus spat on the man's eyes to heal him at first he saw men like trees, he did not see clearly and then Jesus put His hands on the man's eyes AGAIN (not saying that He spat on the man's eyes again) and then the man's eyes were opened. Now the questions are................ why did Jesus do it twice? Does the man seeing people as trees mean something? What if any was the meaning of this? My husband gave me his thoughts now give me yours. Dionne (nunu139) Response to this blog that was placed in my spirit to share with all!! Interestingly enough Jesus had and has a plan for all things and when you study closely it is amazingly how even though the context of scriptures may shift a central understanding may be overlayed. If you notice the preceding scriptures which contextually are separate from the ones in question we see that the Jesus fed the multitude (4,000) with a few small fishes at the bewilderment of his disciples. Even in the midst of Jesus company they questioned his desire and ability to satisfy them. Hence we see little faith observed. Then comes the Pharisees, etc. and they are seeking a sign from heaven to confirm who he is. Trying to tempt him for a miracle to satisfy their doubt. Then we have his disciples foregetting to bring bread along in the ship and when he started talking about the Pharisees, etc. and the leaven they had (a little leaven can spoil the whole loaf as well as a little doubt can spoil the measure of faith that we have all been given - okay-:) They were thinking carnally. And here we end up where your question comes in when we see they brought (keyword is they) brought a blind man unto him (other accounts in the Gospel we see that when Jesus healed the blind that came to him and in one case they even followed him to were he was lodging and in another case the blind cried out and when they tried to stop him he got louder - All of these were acting on their own faith for what they knew Jesus could deliver and didn't allow their condition to hinder them nor required assistance enough to be noted but overcame obstacles to get their healing). OF course we don't know who they is but it was significant enough that Jesus wanted to be separated from them in order to do his work. Of course we know from scripture that Jesus didn't do too much work and perform miracles in the midst of unbelief and for this very reason many that he probably knew personally from his home town probably missed the opportunity (that is another lesson though -:) He even put folks out when they couldn't receive what he was doing or about to do (damsel). Once he was led out of town and was alone Jesus began to work on the man (it had and has to be personal). Whether he came on his own or for someone to see a sign it didn't matter but this was Jesus opportunity to gain him. I am sure the man had some faith that if it could be done then maybe this Jesus was the one but up to now he had not personally spoke it. Of course Jesus can do what he wants but his ultimately desire is to build our faith through personal experience. The scriptures inform us that tribulations worketh patience and patience hope thus your faith is buildt. Here we see the blind man's faith being buildt to be able to receive the full manifestation of what God had already given him through crazy means according to the natural. If your faith is not already where it is supposed to be then what do you think will happen when God tells you to do the ridiculous to receive the miraculous. Most of us would doubt even the more. I have often said that the natural sometimes takes a moment to catch up with what has already been realized in the spirit. Thus while it was done his faith was not ready to receive the full manifestation. But due to Christ Compassion and love he did not hold the lack of great faith to his account and brought him into the full manifestation through his second touch. We don't know if the man sought him on his own but once he was in Christ Presence, Christ had enough compassion to build on the faith he had. If you look at the scriptures you see that ussually when Jesus persormed a miracle and it was not even one of the chosen from the house of Israel - He stated according to your faith - it is done. When you mix your faith with the power of his word it shall be done. And we know in those instances where the non chosen ones didn't give up (Canaan women with daughter vexed that Jesus basically turned away but she stayed and got what she wanted despite it {informed by Christ healing is children's bread but she was willing to be a dog but not just any dog - The master's dog and thus she expected a crumb which was and is more than enough from Christ}) Those that believe and trust in spite of and despite of - he gladly reaffirms how great is thy faith and it is done according to that!!!
