We Are The Pentecostals of Central New Jersey
New Brunswick, New Jersey is a vibrant city of 49,000 residents, a number that triples during the business day with college students, corporate and business employees, hospital and health care workers, and thousands of visitors. This city is home to a unique collaboration of world-class health care facilities, pharmaceutical corporations, nonprofit organizations, institutions, and academic facilities.
It is a community with richly diverse neighborhoods, a bustling downtown, and an innovative and popular cultural arts center. Amid this community of distinguished intellectuals and world class corporations, lies a sub-community of hurting, humanity. People living with HIV/Aids, drug addiction, poverty, homelessness, mental and physical abuse. Children playing in the street late into the night, no place to go.
Visit the inner city any night of the week, walk along the streets, and experience the sadness of a lost generation. Blank stares, sad eyes, lost souls silently, crying from an addiction they cannot break, families in poverty and desolation. Streets empty of the bustling professionals that crowded the day, give way to a decadent nightlife. Precious souls are seeking solutions for their hopelessness.
A group of young people answered the call to be the hands that heal, and the voice of hope in this city. While many ministries have relocated to the suburbs, in seemingly attempts to escape the problems of the inner city. We have organized a ministry (Word of Life Apostolic Center, Inc.) to serve to lift individuals, and families out of depression, declining morality, and hopelessness facing this community, and being a local fellowship and outreach center for the young people.
This city has a 73% renter-occupied households, and 25% of the population are between the ages of 20-24 years old, with the vast majority in this age group being college students, this mission is diverse and vast. We solicit your prayers in partnering with us in ministry. We need to reach the masses of low income households in our City as well and the intellectual bastions of this city.
We have not sent ourselves. This is not a matter of choice! We exercise no prerogative at all. The command is GO! We have been ordered to do so – the reaching of this generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is so vital, that if ever received, will transform the lives of individuals. This Church will ever be under orders to evangelize, to witness, to herald, to mobilize for the revival that is coming to the city of New Brunswick.
