Pastor Lorraine M. Walker, was born to the late Mr. Ernest Anthony Garrett and Dorothy M. Souser. Pastor Walker is the youngest of four children. She was educated in both the Parochial and Philadelphia Public School System. God called her out of darkest into His marvelous light at the age of 20.
Pastor Walker has served in many capacities such as Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Psalmist, Asst. Secretary, Church and Pastoral Anniversary Coordinator, Back to the Basic Instructor, Praise & Worship leader and Usher. Pastor Walker’s greatest desire was and still is to see the Body of Christ mature and fulfill their purpose.
In January of 1991, Elder Walker preached her initial sermon at the Rock of Ages Holy Church under the leadership of her father-in-law, Bishop Raymond Walker, Jr. She received her license at Rock of Ages and served their as an associated minister for 9 years.
Elder Walker attended the Pre-Destiny Center at the Bethany Baptist Church under the tutelage of Rev. Cheryl R. Hill-Herder. She is a graduate from Melvyn Floyd School of Missions and Evangelism and currently attends the School of Christian Ministry at the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary for Biblical and Theological Studies
In March 2001, Pastor Walker founded the Daughters of Destiny Ministries where she serves and President and Founder. Daughters of Destiny ministers holistically to women both saved and unsaved through retreats, conference and occasional fellowship. Daughter of Destiny’s ultimate goal is to provide a safe haven for women and children through transitional homes throughout the tristate areas.
In November 2003, elder Walker accepted the call to pastor Word of Life Worship Center. We held our first service on November 9, 2003 at the Royal Court Community Center in Camden, New Jersey. WOLWC continues to use this facility for our weekly services. Pastor Walker was installed as Senior Pastor by Bishop Bruce v. Parham, Presiding Prelate of Fresh Fragrance Covenant Fellowship on May 15, 2005.
Elder Lorraine Walker was joined in Holy Matrimony to Brother Kevin Walker on October 18, 1986.
